Coronavirus Claims One Life In 24 Hours

Pakistan has recorded one coronavirus-related fatality in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of verified positive cases to 1,578,918. On Friday, the number of fatalities nationwide increased to 30,648.

According to the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) most recent statistics, at least 150 people nationwide tested positive for COVID-19 on the previous day.

Out of the 4,194 tests Pakistan conducted in the last 24 hours, 150 people tested positive for the disease. A 3.58 percent COVID Positivity Ratio was discovered.

On March 17, Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi mandated all required actions to combat coronavirus and dengue.

While presiding over a meeting, he stated that a comprehensive strategy should be established to eradicate coronavirus and dengue, and prompt actions should be taken while adhering to the standard operating procedures.

The chief minister gave the directive that sprays pumps and other equipment should be kept in working order and that indoor and outdoor surveillance should receive special attention. He argued that the dashboard of the Punjab Information Technology Board should only display real facts. The cost of the CBC test to diagnose dengue is Rs 95, and secretaries will be placed in various regions to keep an eye on dengue management efforts there.

Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that although the coronavirus situation in Punjab was typical, people should take care to avoid getting sick.  The booster dose would be administered to citizens who have already received the second dose. He gave the order to organize a cabinet subcommittee.

Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Dr Javed Akram, Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dr Jamal Nasir, the chief secretary, Additional IG (Special Branch), secretaries of health, environment, local government, school education, Auqaf departments, commissioner Lahore, DG Health Services Punjab, Chief Executive Officer Punjab Healthcare Commission, and others attended the meeting, while Dr Waseem Akram and Dr Tanveer Salam participated through video-link.
