Army Chief General Asim Munir Is In China To Boost Military Ties
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir is currently on a four-day official visit to China, according to a brief statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Without providing any other information, the military's media wing stated, "The COAS is on a four-day official visit to China to enhance bilateral military relations."

Since assuming control of the Pakistan Army, General Asim Munir has traveled to four different countries. In his first overseas trip as the army chief, General Asim Munir visited Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in January.

The army chief met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman while he was in Saudi Arabia and "reviewed bilateral relations and the ways of enhancing them."

General Asim Munir afterward traveled to the UAE, where he met with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and talked about defense and military cooperation.

According to the state news agency, during the meeting, the two also discussed measures to boost military affairs to serve the shared interests of the friendly countries.

The army chief traveled to the UK a month later for a highly significant visit at the invitation of the British Ministry of Defence to talk about security-related strategic issues.

General Asim Munir returned to the UAE after his trip to Britain and met with the president there.

On February 12, 2023, United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a meeting with Pakistan Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir at the Qasr Al Shati Palace, Abu Dhabi.

According to an official statement issued by the UAE Embassy in Pakistan, matters related to bilateral cooperation and joint work between the two countries came under discussion during the meeting.

"H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, receives at Qasr Al Shati Palace Abu Dhabi General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and discusses ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and joint work between the two countries," the embassy said in the statement.

The UAE Embassy in Pakistan also released a picture of the meeting between both leaders, in which they can be seen talking to each other.
