'Facilitated By Court, Elahi Can Dissolve Assembly Whenever He Desires'
Lahore High Court's verdict has facilitated Pervez Elahi, who can now dissolve Punjab Assembly whenever he desires to appease PTI chairman Imran Khan, says journalist Iftikhar Ahmed.

Speaking at Naya Daur TV programme Khabar Say Aagay, Ahmed highlighted that projects worth billions of rupees were underway in the province and the court should have taken this factor into account.

Such decisions may halt the state's system, the analyst said adding that the matter to decide was whether the decision made by the governor was in line with the Constitution.

Host Raza Rumi said courts' should make decisions on the basis of law and Constitution, not on the basis of who does or does not remain in power.

He said it seemed that the judiciary had become hostage, and likened it with the courts of the 1950 and 1960.

Analyst Raza Rahman observed that the court was trying to maintain a balance while deciding Punjab's case.
