The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has denotified 43 members of the National Assembly who were elected on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ticket.
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had earlier accepted the resignations of these MNAs, pending since April 2022, and forwarded them to the ECP. The concerned PTI legislators had petitioned the ECP not to accept their resignations.
However, the ECP issued a verdict on the petitions, and denotified the now former members of the National Assembly.
