PTI Worker Dies While Clearing Attock Bridge Obstacles

PTI Worker Dies While Clearing Attock Bridge Obstacles
A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker reportedly died while clearing out obstacles near the Attock Bridge as the party’s long march progresses towards Islamabad.

PTI supporters were attempting to move the containers and obstacles that had been placed at the Attock bridge by the Punjab government to prevent the convoy's entry into the province.

An unidentified worker lost his life after falling from the Attock bridge while removing the roadblocks. Two more workers are reported to have sustained injuries.

There have also been reports of heavy police shelling at the Chacch Interchange in the Attock district, where PTI supporters brought in a crane to remove the shipping containers blocking the way.

Police fired tear gas shells at the protesters, and video footage of the incident shows the protestors covering their faces and running away.

Following the worker's successful removal of containers, PTI Chairperson Imran Khan's caravan was able to enter Punjab, and is now making its way towards Islamabad, where the Supreme Court has permitted it to carry out its sit-in at the new location of H-9.

Meanwhile, PTI leader and former finance minister Hammad Azhar also sustained injuries due to police shelling. Sharing a video on Twitter, he said that instead of shooting tear gas shells at a projectile, the police have been aiming directly at the PTI marchers.

Hammad Azhar also chronicled the continued shelling the PTI convoy faced on its way to Islamabad, starting from Kala Shah Kaku.
