Veteran comedian Ismail Tara passed away in Karachi on Thursday after suffering from kidney failure, his family has revealed. The 'Fifty Fifty' star was 73 when he passed away.
The actor's family confirmed that the famed comedian was under treatment for kidney failure at a private hospital in Karachi. “He was admitted to a private hospital three days ago, but died of kidney failure,” his son Shiraz Tara said.
He was admitted to the private hospital due to some health complications, and when his condition worsened, he was put on ventilator. He is survived by his widow, four sons and a daughter.
The funeral and Namaz-i-Janaza for Tara was offered at Pahari Masjid, on Shaheed-i-Millat Road, after Friday prayers.
Tara was most well-known for his role in 'Fifty-Fifty', for which he even wrote some scripts after the. original script-writer Anwar Maqsood had a falling out with the director. Tara's absence will be felt deeply by the Paksitani community.
