Haqooq-e-Khalq Party (HKM) president Ammar Ali Jan has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has proven herself 'unfit for public office' due to her tweet regarding journalist Arshad Sharif's death.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif re-tweeted a tweet on Tuesday that claimed that Arshad Sharif had often made insensitive jokes about PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif's late mother. Quoting the tweet, Maryam had said, "I don’t feel good RTing this but this is a lesson for the mankind that we must all imbibe."

However, her tweet angered social media users, who accused her of being insensitive. HKP President Ammar Ali Jan called her out on Twitter, and said that mocking someone's family after a violent death is shameful. "By displaying such deep-seated feelings of resentment and vendetta against opponents, Maryam Nawaz continues to prove herself unfit for public office," he wrote.
