Alvi Flies Off For Hajj 2023 With 14 Family Members
President Dr Arif Alvi travelled to Saudi Arabia on Sunday to participate in this year's annual pilgrimage of Hajj.

With the possibility that this year's pilgrimage would afford him the last chance to avail it as the head of the Pakistani state, Dr Alvi has taken along with him no less than 14 relatives.

A travel manifest of the entourage shows his entire entourage number 26.

Among the family who have made the journey include his wife, First Lady Samina Alvi, son Dr Awab Alvi, daughter-in-law Sadiqa Awab Alvi, grandchildren Zaffir Habib, Rayyan Awab and Shasmin Awab; daughter Dr Naima Alvi, son-in-law Kamran Bawany, grandchildren Zayaan Bawany, and Inayah Bawany; daughter Dr Radhia Alvi Sumar, son-in-law Zaki Sumar, relative Naveed Sumar and Ruby Naveed Sumar.

Of these, Dr Naima Alvi Bawany, her husband and two children live in Dubai, while Dr Radhia Alvi Sumar and her husband Zaki Sumar reside in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Naveed Sumar and Ruby Naveed Sumar reside in Oman.

The remaining members of the entourage include officials described as personal staff, including his protocol assistant, security staff and valet.

Dr Alvi had arrived in Jeddah on Sunday ahead of the Hajj pilgrimage, which starts on Monday, the Saudi Press Agency had reported.

The president, wearing an ihram, was received at King Abdulaziz International Airport by the deputy governor of the Makkah region Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz.
