'You Failed To Fulfil Your Constitutional Obligations': Shehbaz Writes To NA Speaker
Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif has written a letter to National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser criticising his handling of the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan and complaining that the speaker had failed to fulfil his constitutional obligations.

Shehbaz pointed out that the no-confidence motion was submitted on March 8, after which the NA speaker was legally required to convene the session within 14 days. Furthermore, Shehbaz noted that some parliamentarians did not receive notice of the motion until 10 days after it was submitted.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president also wrote a letter to the home secretary, district administration and inspector general of the federal capital regarding the NA speaker's improper managing of the no-confidence motion.

Shehbaz Sharif stated in his letter that every member of the lower house should have the right to vote during the session.  The day prior, Sharif had signed a separate letter along with joint members of the opposition which called on the NA speaker to issue production orders for incarcerated MNA Ali Wazir during the NA session to vote on the no-confidence motion.

Although the no-confidence motion was on the agenda for Friday's session of the NA, Asad Qaiser adjourned the session till Monday, after Federal Minister For Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri recited fateha for deceased lawmaker Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Khayal Zaman and others who recently passed away.
