A terrorist were killed in a cross-border shootout, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said late on Thursday.
In a statement, the ISPR said the security forces were responding to firing on a military post in Lower Dir District.
“Terrorists from inside Afghanistan across the international border opened fire on a military post in Lower Dir District. Own troops responded in a befitting manner,” the statement says.
According to the ISPR Havaldar Gul Ameer, 36, a resident of Lakki Marwat, was injured in the exchange. He was taken to a hospital where he breathed his last, the statement says.
The statement adds that three terrorists were also injured in the exchange.
