Senior journalist Hamid Mir had asked in a tweet as to who it was that had termed Pervez Elahi the "biggest dacoit of Punjab." In a retweet, Moonis, while apparently referring to the PTI chief, said that when that person came to their house, he formally apologised to Pervaiz Elahi for calling him a 'dacoit.'
Earlier, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain’s younger brother Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain had announced a parting of ways with the party, and the launch of a new political party, besides alleging that Shujaat’s son Chaudhry Salik Hussain is seeking dollars from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari in return for support to the incumbent government.
The PML-Q is currently divided into two groups. One group is supporting the coalition government in the centre, while the Pervez Elahi-led group appears to side with the PTI.
