Nawa-e-Waqt reports (April 18, 2016) veteran PPP leaders Faryal Talpur, Shehla Raza, and Anwar Syal were fined Rs 500 for illegal parking in Murree. They paid the sum on the spot.

Laser lights complicate plane landing 


According to Jang (Aril 19, 2016) a PIA plane from Multan had trouble landing in Karachi after someone was flashing a laser light. People throwing floodlights and lasers on airplanes has become a serious problem in Karachi.

Should women newscasters cover their head?


Reported in Dunya (April 20, 2016) a resolution calling for women newscasters to cover their heads when they are on TV was submitted to the Punjab Assembly. The motion was submitted by PML-N lawmaker Madeeha Rana.

Famous wrestler arrested for carrying Charas


According to Nawa-e-Waqt (April 21, 2016) a famous wrestler from Gujranwala who had once defeated a bear was arrested by the police after they found Charas in his pocket. Jhalla Pehelwan has won the wrestling title Rustam-e-Gujranwala several times.

Three injured in eve-teasing quarrel


Jang reports (April 22, 2016) when a boy was told not to whistle and catcall at girls in the neighborhood, he began to fire a gun in the air, injuring three neighbors.

Rats out of control at Lahore airport 


According to Dunya (April 23, 2016) passengers at Lahore airport have been complaining about rats (choohon ki bharmar) who ruin their bags and suitcases. Some days ago, rats had chewed off the computer network cables at the airport.

Protestors throw shoes and eggs at Mustafa Kamal


When Mustafa Kamal visited North Karachi with other members of his new party, men and women threw shoes and eggs at his car, reports Jang (April 23, 2016). He was rescued and taken to his house in a security cordon.

Robbery suspect turns Nana Patekar


According to Express (April 24, 2016) when a robbery suspect was brought to court in Lahore, he spoke monologues like the Indian actor Nana Patekar to point out the problems in the Pakistani society and justice system. Lawyers, other suspects and complainants enjoyed his comments (mehzooz hotay rahay).

No free lunches, except for police?


Nawa-e-Waqt reports (April 24, 2016) several policemen had lunch at a restaurant in the Garden Town Lahore, but when a waiter asked them to pay, they beat him up (tashaddud ka nishana banaya) and also broke things at the restaurant. When the owner of the restaurant tried to intervene, they beat him up too and fled (faraar).
