Yet another senior politician, Imran Ismail, announced to part ways with PTI chairman Imran Khan and the party, terming the media talk possibly his "last political press conference".
"I have decided that I am resigning from positions of the PTI, as I am the additional secretary general and a member of the core committee," Ismail said while addressing a presser at the Karachi Press Club (KPC), on Saturday.
"I am also leaving the PTI…Khan sahib I bid adieu to you, too," he added.
Speaking about his "amazing" journey with the former premier and being the founding members of the party, the PTI leader said a "diversion" came during the mass contact campaign after the government's ouster in April last year.
"A diversion or narrative started to gain ground that the PTI was up against the army and in this narrative-building, many friends were uncomfortable and advised Imran Khan [against it]," Ismail said.
He added, "Someone has to take responsibility. I'm not taking names but those who gave such advice to Imran Khan should reflect."
May 9 attacks Ismail said that it is still remains to be determined who actually launched attacks on military installations and the sites dedicated to the martyrs.
"Whoever was involved, we as a nation are unanimous that there should be an inquiry and an exemplary punishment whether or not they represented PTI."
"There should be an inquiry and punishment. Our hearts beat with our martyrs," he remarked.
On Wednesday, Fawad Chaudhry

Hours after Fawad's tweet, senior leader Asad Umar announced to resign as PTI's secretary general.
"I have only resigned from the party position and the core committee," Umar said while addressing a presser following his release from Adiala Jail.
On Tuesday, senior leader Shireen Mazari
announced to quit the party and “active politics”, a day after she was taken into custody from outside Adiala Jail after she was released on court orders in another case.
