Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry has set up a committee to look into the televised clash between PTV Sports host Dr Nauman Niaz and Pakistan's former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. The committee will be led by PTV's managing director.
Information minister Fawad Chaudhry has taken notice of the clash that took place on the show Game On Hai on PTV Sports. The incident had taken place soon after Pakistan's win against the New Zealand cricket team. Shoaib Akhtar had been so offended by his exchange with Dr Nauman Niaz that after a commercial break he got up, announced that he was resigning from PTV Sports due to how he had been spoken to, removed his mic and left the broadcast.
The committee will report to the information minister on its findings, and in this process it will call both individuals who had been part of the televised spat to hear their sides of the story.
