The Punjab Assembly Tuesday passed a resolution recommending addition of the Khatm-i-Nabuwat oath to marriage (Nikah) documents. The discussion began when the speaker skipped other agenda items, including inflation.
Chaudhry Pervez Elahi presided over the session.
A public-interest resolution seeking inclusion of the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat oath in marriage documents was passed unanimously by the provincial assembly.
Other bills presented in the assembly included the University of Lahore (amendment) Bill 2021, Rashid Latif Khan University Bill 2021, Punjab Community Safety Measures in Sports & Health Clubs, and the University of Management & Technology Lahore 2021 Bill. They were all sent to the committees concerned and the speaker sought their reports on the draft laws within 60 days.
Debate on inflation was also postponed to Wednesday morning.
