Physical Altercation Between PMLN Ministers On National Assembly Floor Narrowly Avoided
A disagreement between PMLN ministers Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Javed Latif escalated during a session of the National Assembly, as a physical altercation between both parties was nearly avoided, while the decorum of the House was defiled as both legislators resorted to using vulgar curse-words and other inappropriate remarks at each other on Wednesday April 26.

A quarrel broke out between Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) parliamentarian and minister for parliamentary affairs Murtaza Javed Abbasi, and his fellow party member and cabinet colleague Javed Latif, minister without portfolio, during a National Assembly session. Both Abbasi and Latif attempted to physically assault each other, while continuing to use foul language and inappropriate remarks against each other.

Minister of state for interior Abdul Rehman Kanju, law minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, and other legislators intervened to defuse the situation and prevent a physical brawl on the floor of the house. Law minister Tarar took Murtaza Javed Abbasi to sit near defence minister Khawaja Asif.

The situation escalated again when Javed Latif was not given permission to speak in the House.

On the other hand, another PMLN member of the National Assembly (MNA) Saira Bano walked out of the session as she was not granted permission to speak by the chair. Saira Bano said people were speaking on their own, as the permission to speak on the floor of the house was not being regulated properly. "We are not even given the opportunity to speak," Bano lamented.
