A protest demonstration against electricity and gas outages was held by women in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the protestors burning their bills. The women blocked the roads for the protest, lamenting that they have to face the ordeal everyday. According to the protestors, electricity is not available in their area for up to 18 hours, while gas outages continue for 14 hours. "These outages make it impossible for us perform our daily household chores," they said.
Media reports indicated that the dialogue between protestors and the administration failed, due to which citizens were stuck on roads for many hours.
The women vowed to continue their protest and keep the roads blocked if their demands are not met. They also called on the deputy commissioner to take immediate notice of their grievances and resolve the matter.
