Imran Speaks of 'Political Engineering' In General Elections
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday expressed fears of "political engineering" in the next general elections in Pakistan.

Speaking to the media in Lahore today (Dec 28), the former PM said "results wouldn't be good" in case of such an engineering during the polls.

He went on to add that in 1970, too, the mandate of the largest party in East Pakistan wasn't recognised.

According to the PTI chief, he doesn't see general elections taking place anytime soon in the country.

Ruling out a joint charter with the rival political parties, Imran said interests of PML-N and PPP do match but they don't align with those of Pakistan.

Two days ago (Dec 26), the former prime minister asserted that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) parties wanted him disqualified and jailed, adding that they (PDM) were afraid of elections.

He was also quoted as saying that the alliance was running away from polls, being afraid of facing the public.
