Deepika Padukone is undoubtedly one of the most prominent actresses in the Indian film industry and her latest film, Pathaan, with Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham, has been breaking records at the box office and garnering huge love from audiences all across the world.
In a recent interview, Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone talked about the success of Pathaan, how her experience working with Shah Rukh Khan was, and what they had in common. Deepika also opened up about dealing with controversies and how she ‘shut out the noise’ ahead of Pathaan’s release.
While speaking about working on the movie Pathaan with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone told media persons that while there was seriousness and responsibility, she and Shah Rukh Khan also had moments of joy and laughter. She revealed that when she and King Khan work together, they are able to be very vulnerable with each other.
When asked about how both she and Shah Rukh deal with controversies with composure and restraint, Deepika said that they don’t know ‘any other way of being’. "I think that’s just who we are as people and the way we have been brought up by our respective families. We came to Mumbai alone, with just dreams and aspirations. All we know is commitment, hard work, and humility, and it has gotten us where we are," she added.
She further said that tackling controversies comes with experience and maturity. She mentioned that sports have been a vital part of both her and SRK’s lives. "We were both athletes."I do know that he played sports in high school and college. Sport teaches you a lot about restraint," she added.
When asked whether this approach helps in handling the noise before Pathaan’s release, Deepika said, "As I said, I don’t know any other way. It comes across as not reacting. But shutting out the noise comes from knowing your truth and just having patience."
Deepika Padukone will next be seen in the film Fighter, co-starring Hrithik Roshan. She also has Project K with Prabhas, Singham 3 with Ajay Devgn, and The Intern remake with Amitabh Bachchan.
