No-Confidence Motion Against CM Buzdar Submitted
The opposition has submitted a no-confidence motion against Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in the Punjab Assembly.

Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Rana Mashhood reported that the motion has been signed by 129 lawmakers -- 122 from PML-N and seven from Pakistan People's Party (PPP).

As quoted in Dawn, Mashood said that 74 signatures are required to requisition a provincial assembly session and stated that Buzdar cannot dissolve the assembly now that the no-trust move has been submitted. He also called on the speaker to hold the session of the provincial assembly within 14 days, as required.

"The requisition was submitted at 9:45am today (Monday) and it is the decision of the people of Punjab, who no longer want Buzdar as the chief minister," the PML-N leader said.

In response, Buzdar's team took to Twitter vowed to fight the no-confidence motion, cautioning the Chaudhry brothers not to align with the PML-N. They again alluded to a 'surprise' against the opposition.

The no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, filed by the opposition in the National Assembly on March 8th, was also scheduled to be tabled today (Monday), after the NA Speaker delayed the vote on Friday to offer fateha for deceased lawmakers. Later, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said the motion would be tabled on April 3rd or 4th -- well after the mandatory 14-day deadline required by the Constitution.
