Following Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran's announcement to quit the provincial assemblies, the party's senior leadership is expected to meet today (Monday) to finalise the dates for dissolution and resignation from the respective assemblies.
PTI leader Fawad Chauhdry in a tweet on Monday announced that a meeting of senior party leadership of the PTI has been called for today. He said that the meeting would discuss the dates for dissolving the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, as well as the dates for resigning from the Balochistan and Sindh governments.
"When these decisions have been taken, 64% of the seats of Pakistan's assemblies will be vacant, which will pave the way for general elections," he claimed.

Previously on Saturday, PTI chief Imran Khan had announced that all PTI lawmakers will be abandoning the provincial and national assemblies, and that PTI would be dissolving their provincial governments.
Following the announcement, Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi had said that he would dissolve the Punjab Assembly 'in a wink' whenever Imran Khan gave the call. His son, Moonis Elahi tweeted that since July 27 when Elahi became CM, the Punjab government has been running on 'bonus time'. "The day Imran Khan says, right that minute, God willing, the Punjab Assembly will be dissolved," he wrote.
