Indian PM Pays Tribute To Shaheed Bhagat Singh On His 116th Birth Anniversary

On the anniversary of the great revolutionary Shaheed Bhagat Singh's birth, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to him.

The Indian prime minister released a video message on X (previously Twitter) in which he compared a liberation warrior to a shining example of bravery. Remembering Shaheed Bhagat Singh on the occasion of his birthday, he wrote, “Generations of people have been inspired by his sacrifice and unshakable commitment to the cause of India's liberation. He was a shining example of bravery and will always stand for India's unrelenting pursuit of justice and freedom.”

Lala Lajpat Rai was brutally beaten and killed, and Bhagat Singh and his fellow revolutionaries vowed to get their vengeance. Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru targeted John P. Saunders (who was mistaken for James A. Scott) as the police officer responsible for Lala’s death.

Even before their court appearance on March 24, 1931, all three revolutionaries were secretly put to death on March 23. Their passing rocked the entire nation and left a large hole in people's hearts.

Netizens also paid tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary.
