‘Not Independent’: ECP Issued Election Schedule On SC Order, Says Fazl

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Thursday that the country's law and order situation was unfavorable and that if any workers were martyred, the chief justice and the chief of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would be held accountable.
While addressing a news conference in Islamabad, Rehman said that Pakistan was founded in the name of Islam and that it should be recognized as an Islamic state.

He stated that snatching candidates' nomination documents was unlawful and improper, but that the PTI was not being exploited.

"If the ECP releases an election schedule on the order of the Supreme Court (SC), how can it be an independent organization?" he said. He said that there was unrest in two provinces.

"The merger experiment in FATA is failing because the common man in FATA is concerned." "The people of FATA should be given the right to decide their political fate," added the JUI chief.

"We want peaceful relations with our neighbors and to resolve outstanding issues through dialogue." "We want to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with Security Council resolutions," he stated.

According to the JUI chairman, Pakistan and Afghanistan should have a fraternal connection.
