Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the desecration of the holy book by a far-right Danish politician and stressed the need of fighting Islamophobia.
Notorious anti-Islam activist Rasmus Paludan first burnt a copy of the holy book near a mosque in the Danish capital and then a second copy outside the Turkish embassy a day earlier.
In a tweet, the prime minister expressed his displeasure over the third incident of the desecration of the holy book in the last week.
He wrote: "The highly offensive desecration of the Holy Quran by a Danish politician is the third such incident in a row that should be strongly condemned by the civilized world."
The premier also urged the international community to join hands and fight Islamophobia.
Earlier, the Foreign Office also strongly condemned the senseless and deeply offensive act of desecration of the holy book in Denmark, by the same Islamophobia who committed a similar act in Sweden a few days ago.
Meanwhile, at least 5,000 people marched through Lahore chanting "Quran is printed in our hearts" and "I am a protector of the Quran" in a rally organized by the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
On the other hand, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) held a protest demonstration against the desecration of the holy book in Karachi. The participant also tore Swedish flags in both cities.

Hyderabad minority leaders on Tuesday slammed India for attempting to portray Pakistan in a negative light after a mob stoked unrest in the city over the alleged desecration of the Holy Quran on Sunday.
Speaking to journalists, minority leaders strongly condemned the incident and urged the government to restore peace in the city. They criticised the Indian government for using the incident to portray a poor picture of Pakistan.
