SC Decides Cases Looking At Trucks, Not Constitution: Maryam
PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday took the judges to task for facilitating former prime minister and PTI chairman Imran Khan.

"Why do you remember the Constitution when hearing a case related to Imran Khan." she asked during a public gathering in Kasur.

She went on to add that the way the judges are facilitating Imran Khan, the nation is forced to think that the decisions are being made not on the basis of the Constitution, but 'on the basis of trucks'.

In an audio leak earlier this month, PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry was allegedly heard telling his brother Faisal to meet someone with the name of Mazahar and convey, "the entire truck is standing beside you, so tell us what to do now."

Taking a jibe at the former premier, Maryam said his facilitators tried to portray him as a leader, but he was exposed once the Toshakhana theft came out in the open.

She recalled that Imran used to talk about ensuring that the law is equal for everyone, and is on the run once the court summoned him.

According to her, PTI chairman is used his injured leg as an excuse to avoid court hearings, as they can leading to an indictment.

Referring to a recent address by the former premier to his supporters, she told Imran that he will never be allowed by the nation to return to the corridors of power again.

The political temperature has been rising since the ECP announced to hold elections in Punjab, set to take place on Oct 8.

Despite intense wrangling on the issue by the political archrivals, analysts say the national and provincial polls may be conducted together.

The decision of the top electoral authority received a swift rebuke by Imran Khan, who termed it a clear violation of the Constitution.
