On Monday, the TTP called off the ceasefire that it had held in June with the Pakistani government in June. As per a report the organisation has ordered its militants to conduct attacks across Pakistan.
Today Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar will lead a delegation to Kabul for a one-day visit.
Since the change of government in April 2022, this will be the first visit to Afghanistan by a senior member of the government. It is also the first time a such a delegation is being led by a female minister.
There is great concern in Pakistan over Afghanistan's hard stance against women's rights and access to education. Earlier at Moscow, Pakistan's envoy Muhammad Sadiq had expressed an anti-Taliban stance. It is thought that Khar will also broach the regression of female rights during her visit.

A statement issued by Pakistan's Foreign Office said, "Bilateral relations, including cooperation in the areas of education, trade and investment, regional connectivity, people-to-people contacts and matters related to regional security will be discussed. Minister of State will also reaffirm Pakistan’s continued commitment and support for all efforts aimed at strengthening peace and enhancing prosperity in Afghanistan."
