Since its start, Bridgerton has aimed to portray a “multihued, multi-ethnic, colourful world,” however fictionalized. The show straddles the line between fantasy, and cultural accuracy.
Some viewers loved how the show incorporated South Asian family traditions, such as oiling each others' hair, and applying turmeric paste during a pre-wedding ceremony.
"Many South Asians grow up having their hair oiled routinely by a parent or older caregiver. It's so warming to see those cultural practices presented in this season," wrote one fan.
