Tom Wilkinson has two Oscar nominations and one BAFTA award. He died suddenly at the age of 75, leaving behind his wife and children. He was nominated for his performance as the lead in the 2001 film In the Bedroom and as a supporting actor in the 2007 film Michael Clayton.

"It is with great sadness that the family of Tom Wilkinson announces that he died suddenly at home on December 30," the agent said in a statement. His wife and children accompanied him."

His other famous roles include those in the 1995 production of Martin Chuzzlewit and Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility. He also appeared in the films Batman Begins and Rush Hour. His other notable roles include The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
