Pakistani actress Maria Wasti has appeared in many dramas including Kallo, Neend, Boota From Toba Tek Singh, Ashiyana and Buri Aurat. Recently she appeared on Nadir Ali’s podcast where she addressed the issue of the leaked photos featuring the model Ayesha Omar which went viral.
"Those were personal pictures of my friend Ayesha [Omar] and it was a long time ago, a time when there was no awareness of locking up photos and albums," said Wasti. She also mentioned that it was a private list and implied that it is always a friend who breaches that privacy. "It was said that it happened."
She also spoke about the hypocrisy that comes with leaks where people are quick to condemn when they see leaked photos and videos they see about themselves, but when the content is about others they share it widely.
When asked that why were those photos taken, she simply replied 'Meri zindagi, meri marzi.'
Wasti also spoke about it comes down to a personal choice about what you allow to affect you and what you don't allow especially in the case of trolling.
