In a positive move for customers, the price of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been cut by Rs 20 per kilogram, lowering the cost from Rs 300 to Rs 280 per kg.
The cut is expected to bring great relief to homes and companies that rely on LPG for a variety of functions.
Irfan Khokhar, Chairman of the LPG Distribution Association, announced the price cut, noting that the cost of a household cylinder has been reduced by Rs 230, while the price of a commercial cylinder has been reduced by Rs 900.
Khokhar also hinted at more price cuts in the coming 48 hours, citing the favorable trend as a result of improved ties between Pakistan and Iran. The latest political events have disturbed the preparations of "gas mafias," as fears of an international LPG price decline have left them with shattered hopes.
The drop in LPG prices is consistent with the government's aim to alleviate the effects of inflation on the general public. As customers welcome the response, the question now is whether the lower trend in LPG prices will continue in the days ahead.
Analysts believe that the good turn of events might have a broader impact on the energy sector, contributing to a more reliable and inexpensive energy supply.
