The Lahore High Court (LHC) is showing favouritism in the cases related to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and the court went out of its way to reinstate Punjab Advocate General Ahmad Awais after he was sacked from his post by the Punjab caretaker government, senior journalists Abdul Qayyum Siddiqui and Matiullah Jan have claimed on their YouTube channel.
Abdul Qayyum Siddiqui said that Punjab Advocate General Ahmad Awais was dismissed from his post by the caretaker government on the basis of his affiliation with the PTI, but he challenged his removal in the Lahore High Court.
The journalist further revealed that until the petition was filed by Ahmad Awais, the working hours of the court were about to end, and the judge set the case to be heard on the next working day (Monday).
However, LHC Chief Justice Ameer Bhatti referred this case to another judge, Justice Asim Hafeez, who was called from his home to hear the case.
The journalists also revealed that PTI had filed 32 petitions in the LHC. They said that in the past, PTI would always approach the Islamabad High Court, but now all their petitions were headed towards Lahore High Court.

The plea was heard by LHC Justice Asim Hafeez. The petitioner had pleaded that the caretaker government was not authorised to remove law officers and the advocate general and had requested the court to reinstate Ahmad Awais as Punjab Advocate General.
The court summoned the Punjab government lawyer on 30 January at 10 AM and directed the parties to submit a response regarding this matter.
During the hearing, advocate Hamid Khan said that elections of the Punjab Bar Council were due and the Punjab advocate general had to conduct the polls.
Upon which, Justice Asim asked where it was written that elections could not be conducted in absence of the advocate general.
Additional Advocate General Barrister Hassan Khalid Ranjha informed the court that new law officers had been appointed but the Punjab caretaker government had removed Ahamd Awais from the post of the advocate general.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab caretaker government had removed the advocate general appointed during the tenure of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. Soon after, Ahmad Awais had challenged his suspension in the LHC.
