PTI South Punjab Chief Sadaqat Ali Abbas Arrested In Islamabad

PTI South Punjab Chief Sadaqat Ali Abbas Arrested In Islamabad

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) South Punjab President Sadaqat Ali Abbas was arrested from Islamabad on Friday evening in a move which his party termed was an 'abduction'.

Abbasi, a former member of national assembly, was reportedly apprehended within the remits of the Kohsar police station.

Sources said that Abbasi had been arrested by the police. However, the Islamabad Police neither confirmed nor denied Abbasi's arrest.

The arrest of Abbasi comes on a day when PTI President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was released by the Lahore High Court but he was re-arrested shortly thereafter by the Islamabad Police.

Further, Abbasi's arrest came to pass within 24 hours of a senior PTI leader from South Punjab, Aoun Abbas Bappi, announced he was leaving the party.
