Fawad Chaudhry 'Possibly Inebriated' When Arrested, Medical Report Says
In a new twist, a medical report from the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) states that former information minister and senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry had traces of ethanol (alcohol) in his urine, when his sample was obtained after his arrest some days ago.

According to the report, tests run by the agency on a urine sample – apparently collected by law enforcement from Fawad Chaudhry, and then sealed – reveal that it had 0.254 g/dL of ethanol. As per PFSA estimates, Fawad Chaudhry "might have ingested alcohol at 5:00 AM on January 25th, 2023".

The report further states that 0.4 g/dL is the value at which alcohol content in the body becomes lethal.

In the final paragraph of its conclusions, the report states that if a blood specimen from Fawad Chaudhry had been obtained, "a more accurate interpretation of alcohol content would have been possible".

Sources report that police authorities are now considering new charges against Fawad Chaudhry, including section 11 of The Prohibition (Enforcement of Hadd) Order of 1979 which makes the consumption of alcohol liable to tazir, or discretionary punishment.
