Police claimed to have arrested the main accused behind the brutal murder of a young female tiktoker, on Saturday.
The body of the model, Sneha Gul, was found from Kahina, Punjab on Dec 3, 2022. She was drugged and taken to the said area and shot seven times by her friend when she asked him to marry her.
Superintendent Police Aftab Phularwan told media persons that the LEA had been on the hunt for a grey car after spotting it on the CCTV camera near the scene of the crime.
Police subsequently checked some 3,000 vehicles of the same colour, but couldn't spot the one used in the incident.
After a passage of 18 days, police succeeded in identifying the girl with the help of her fingerprints, and her phone call data led them to the killer.
The Glock pistol as well as the car used during the murder have been confiscated and sent for forensics.
According to the officer, the man involved in the murder will be prosecuted and punished as per the law.
In July last year, Arbela Arpi, a TikToker from the United States, was allegedly gang-raped at a local hotel during her visit to Dera Ghazi Khan’s Fort Munro.
DG Khan Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Anwar had said that the prime suspect, Muzamil Shehzad was arrested from Rajanpur after the registration of a case under Sections 376 and 292B.
In her statement, the victim said that she was staying at a local hotel in Fort Munro on the night of July 17, when Muzamil and his associates raped her. She further said that the accused also made videos during the incident.
The then chief minister Punjab Hamza Shehbaz had taken notice of the incident and sought a report from the province’s inspector general of police. He had asked the LEA for adequate action in the case.
He was quoted as saying that the accused will be punished according to law and justice will be provided to the victim at all costs.
