PTI Supporters Protest Nationwide Following Attack On Imran Khan
Following the attempted assassination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan in Wazirabad on Thursday, party supporters have launched protests all over the country.

On Thursday as the PTI long march caravan entered Wazirabad, a man identified as Naveed Ahmad, shot a round of bullets aimed at the PTI chief, injuring him in his leg. It was alter learned that one by-stander was killed, while 14 others were injured as a result of the spray of bullets.

After the event, Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed announced a peaceful protest outside his residence Lal Haveli in Rawalpindi.

Early on Friday, PTI leader Asad Umar announced that nationwide protests would be held after Friday prayers, adding, "Until Imran Khan's demand is met, nationwide protests will continue."

Shortly after, party leader Fawad Chaudhry also tweeted the same, saying that every Pakistani should participate in the protests against the life attempt on Imran Khan.

Video footage of the protests shows crowds of people taking to the streets, in some places setting tires on fire. Protesters in Rawalpindi attempted to enter Islamabad and stage a sit-in protest at Faizabad, however Islamabad police tried to prevent their entry through shelling.

In Lahore, PTI supporters set fire to the gate of the Punjab Governor House. Whereas in Peshawar, supporters staged a protest outside the Corps Commander house, chanting anti-army slogans.
