Journalist Anas Mallick 'Back' Post Kabul Disappearance
Journalist Anas Mallick, who disappeared in Kabul on Thursday, has confirmed he is safe.

The journalist confirmed the same on Friday using microblogging site Twitter. Malick, who reports for India's WION News, went missing after filing a story on the place where Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed in a US drone strike.

Pakistan Ambassador to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan too on Friday confirmed that journalist Anas Mallick, who reportedly went missing in Kabul a day earlier, is “safe” in the Afghan capital.

“Regarding reports about Pakistani journalist Anas Mallick, I have just talked to him on [the] phone briefly. He is in Kabul and safe. Embassy will remain in touch with him,” the ambassador said in a tweet.

“We at Foreign Office are deeply concerned about the disappearance of Anas Mallick…. We are in touch with local authorities and Pakistan Embassy in Afghanistan for his early and safe return to Pakistan,” the Foreign Office had tweeted earlier too.
