Numerous residents gathered around the drone after the crash, and the police were eventually summoned.

SHO Wahid said that the drone and the narcotics, which were worth millions of rupees, had been confiscated.

They have been sent to the Anti-Narcotics Force for additional investigation into the origin and destination of the drone and the drugs, the official added.

The drone was identified to be a FoxTech GAIA 190-MP Heavy Lift Drone. The drone's specifications say it can fly for as long as 45 minutes at a speed of 10 meters per second. It has six propellers (a hexacopter) and can carry weight of up to 35 kilogrammes. It can even operate through rain and heavy dust.

Each unit costs over $7500.

It is pertinent to mention here that Narowal police detained five people earlier this year on suspicion of using drones to smuggle heroin over international borders. In the course of the inquiry, the police also seized automatic firearms, eight batteries, and a control device.
