The Bombay Review is South Asia's biggest literary magazine. Taking to their social media account on Instagram, they put up a post that honoured Pakistani female authors for both fiction and non-fiction, with a special mention of one Pakistani publisher alongside the esteemed Zubaan Books in India.
Stating: "Women’s History Month Special: 50 Women Writers - 50 Books from Pakistan in the 21st Century. One of our happiest and intensive projects of the last few months, this is our ‘the list’ for you! A lovely mix of novels, short fiction, and the occasional anthology - meet the first 25 writers we love, adore and highly recommend reading from Pakistan. Part 2 is out shortly, we thank our lovely friends from across for their valuable inputs, as well as the folks in India from different publishing houses.
We add a special mention to @zuka.books (Pakistan) and @zubaanbooks (India) -for the fabulous work they are doing as publishers in South Asia. Thank you, to them, to all the writers here, and to all the readers in our two countries. Onwards, we read, and write, and love."
Split into two posts, the second caption read: "Women’s History Month Special: 50 Women Writers - 50 Books from Pakistan in the 21st Century. The second part is here! We have included three graphic novels in this set, apart from two lovely anthologies of short fiction by Saqi as a special mention. This has been a beautiful project for us, and we are so happy to bring this to you! Hope to bring new readers to these exciting writers, as well as to the literary landscape of Pakistan as a whole."
