The MQM-Pakistan’s Dr. Farooq Sattar expressed his view that if Karachi ended up like Mohenjo Daro, it would be the fault of the rulers (hukm-raan). He was further quoted by Daily Jang (14 August 2017) as saying that Karachi’s master plan had become a ‘mastermind’ plan.

“Allow us to explain”


According to Daily Nawa-i-Waqt (14 August 2017), the PTI was preparing a response to the pamphlet distributed by the ruling party in which the ousted PM asks: “Kyoon nikala mujhe?” (Why was I removed?) A PTI spokesperson was further quoted remarking that they knew from earlier on that Nawaz Sharif would not understand court proceedings conducted in English, but that he ought to have gotten them by now.

Daily Nawa-i-Waqt (14 August 2017) reported that ‘Noon and Junoon’ clashed before a rally of the Awami Muslim League and PTI in Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi. Activists of PML-N raised slogans in favour of the ruling party, leading to a brawl with infuriated PTI supporters.


Bilawal on disqualified people


According to Daily Nawa-i-Waqt (14 August 2017), the PPP’s Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed his view that Nawaz Sharif sought to wrap up the system. He was further quoted as remarking that the PPP did not take the proposals from a disqualified person seriously.


‘Leave 62, 62 alone!’


Jamaat-e-Islami leader Siraj-ul-Haq, according to Daily Nawa-i-Waqt (15 August 2017), observed that a disqualified person was leading marches on GT Road for the Constitution to be changed. He went on to recommend that those who wish to remove articles 62 and 63 should, instead of breaking the mirror, try to remove the stain (siyahi) from their face.


Zardari sees a possible joke


Daily Nawa-i-Waqt (15 August 2017) quoted Asif Ali Zardari as saying that making Qulsoom Nawaz the Prime Minister of the country would be a joke at the expense of the country (mulk ke saath mazaaq hoga).


Imran Khan on Bilawal’s rally


According to Daily Dunya, (18 Aug 2017), Imran Khan remarked that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was a child (bacha) and that he might even start crying at his rally in Mansehra.

It was reported by Daily Dunya (20 August 2017) that the PML-N’s Saad Rafique described Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa as being on fire due to Dengue – while the Nero of KP (Imran Khan) played a tune by himself.


The times we live in…


Daily Dunya (20 August 2017) reported that an injured person, after an accident, was left lying on the ground for twelve hours after an accident, without anyone intervening to help him. Nevertheless, during this period, he was deprived of his mobile phone, and of the Rs. 12 in his pocket!
