Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan have vowed that no terrorist organization or individual would be permitted to exploit their territory to endanger the security or interests of the area.
According to a statement released by the Foreign Office on Monday, the commitment was made following the 5th China-Afghanistan-Pakistan Foreign Ministers' Dialogue, which was held in Islamabad on May 6, 2023, and was attended by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, China Foreign Minister Qin Gang, and Afghanistan Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi,
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM), and other individuals, groups, or parties should not be allowed to use their territories to harm or threaten regional security and interests or carry out terrorist acts and activities, the three countries emphasized.
As per the statement, all three parties stressed the necessity of refraining from interfering in Afghanistan's domestic affairs and of fostering Afghan peace, stability, and reconstruction.
The Foreign Ministers emphasized the essential importance of trilateral cooperation in promoting this objective and stressed that a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Afghanistan serves the shared interests of the region.
According to the FO statement, the three parties agreed to further enhance and broaden their cooperation in the security, development, and political sectors on the basis of mutual respect, equal-footed consultation, and mutual benefit.
The international community was urged to strengthen multilateral cooperation as well as provide the relevant countries with the necessary supplies, equipment, and technical assistance in this regard. The three sides agreed to coordinate and cooperate on security, organised crime, drug smuggling, etc.
The ministers emphasized the necessity of creating economic activity within Afghanistan and the significance of looking into practical options for reviving the Afghan economy. In order to do this, they decided to take into account increasing their assistance for Afghanistan's reconstruction and looking into trilateral investment opportunities for industrialization and employment development.
