So, I am back in Kot Lakhpat Jail. Beloved Lahoris gave me a good send off – there was much josh-o-jazba on the street. You will see how this jazba will grow in the coming weeks and months. People are fad up of this gormint.
In jail, all the inmates were happy to see me. You see, when food comes from home, and when visitors bring tons of cakes, halwas and stuff, I always give to my fallow inmates.
Bhola of Gowalmandi is an old inmate. He use to be fat, then became thin in jail, then again became fat when I came because of all my goodies that I gave him. In these six weeks that I have been away, Bhola again became slim. Because of lack of my goodies.
He said, “thanks God you are back, Mian Saab. Now the goodies pipelan will also restart”. I told him that Bhola, please stay slim. He gave me elaborate argument:
“Mian Saab, a new repote shows that being overweight is not as harmful as commonly believed, and actually there are some surprising health benefits. Being 3 kg to 6 kg overweight protects people from TB and Alzheimer’s. Being 8 kg to 15 kg overweight protects people from pneumonia and infactions. Having 15 kg to 22 kg extra flab fends of cancer and kidney disease. Being 25 kg overweight reverses baldness and bad eyesight. Also, the repote concluyion is that overweight people are happier, more successful in business and smart and frandly.”
I looked at Bhola scaptickly and asked him that who funded the research for this repote, hain ji? He replied: “Butt Sweets, Mohammadi Nihari, Bashir Dar-ul-Mahi, Benazir Kulfa, Bundu Khan, Barbecue Tonite, Food Street, Haideri Haleem, Nee Ha Chinese Takeaway, Burger Brothers and Gourmet Bakers.”
Jailer saw that Bhola was being frandly with me. He gave poor Bhola dirty looks. “Come here, oye!” he shouted at Bhola. “Ji sir ji?” Bhola asked with tremblingness. “Have you joined Mian Saab’s party, oye?” jailer bellowed. “Who me?” Bhola asked. “YES YOU!” “N-n-not at all sir ji. I have not joined Mian Saab’s political party, I’ve only joined his iftar party.”
