Pakistani lawyers Yasser Latif Hamdani and Samar Abbas have won the elections to the Bar Representation Committee of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in London.
Lincoln’s Inn is a 600-year-old society of barristers in London.
Yasser Latif Hamdani is a constitutional lawyer based in Islamabad. His work deals with freedom of expression and minorities’ rights under the Pakistani constitution. He was previously a visiting fellow at Harvard Law School, as well as researching the legal persecution of Ahmadis and other religious minorities in Pakistan. His other work includes constitutional and commercial litigation, and he was instrumental in the unbanning of YouTube in Pakistan. He is also the author of the book Jinnah - A Life, which is a well-regarded biography of Quaid-e-Azam.
Samar Abbas practises law in London and is a leading arbitration practitioner there, specialising in technology, commercial and construction disputes. He is affiliated with the prestigious Atkins Chamber in London.
