Punjab police took Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Khwaja Salman Rafique and Hafiz Nauman into custody after they offered voluntary arrests following an incident where their security guards reportedly tortured an army official.
The politicians went to the Garden Town police station, asking the authorities to include them in the probe into the case registered against four alleged attackers. The PML-N leaders offered themselves for arrests in the case.
Police officials say that an army officer, Major Harris, was tortured by the MPAs' guards on Wednesday and the attackers had also damaged his car. A case was subsequently registered on the complaint of the army officer against seven suspected attackers at a police station in Lahore.
On Thursday evening, the police arrested four guards who have been accused of involvement in the incident.
According to police, the videos from the Safe City cameras and mobile phones were observed so the authorities can get to the bottom of the incident.
