Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Muhamad Hamza Shafqaat, in a tweet on Sunday, stated that his office had no connection whatsoever to an Iraqi faith healer who is on a visit to Pakistan and is being warmly welcomed in Islamabad. A faith healer, by the name of Mala Ali Kurdistani, hailing from the Kurdistan region of Iraq, is visiting Pakistan and people, including senior, politicians were queuing up to meet him in Islamabad and Peshawar.

However, the person in question appears to be a fraud. His videos 'healing' the sick go viral and people think of him as a spiritual guide who has the power to heal the blind and deaf and those suffering from any ailments through his recitations -- without medial treatment. But as per news reports in Turkish websites, the man was charged with fraud and misconduct in Saudi Arabia and Turkey for faking healings.
In 2017, he had made headlines by claiming that then US President Donald Trump was possessed by djinns and only he can cure him.
During his visit to Pakistan, Ali Kurdistani has met Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Yousaf Raza Gilani, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tahir Ashrafi. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Mufti Kifayatullah and former SAPM Firdous Ashiq Awan also met him.

An old report claims that the Turkish police had raided his residence after receiving complaints of mistreatment about him.
Another report from last year said that he was detained by the authorities in Saudi Arabia after an elderly man who featured in the controversial cleric's 'healing' video termed him a liar. After his release, he went to Turkey where his house was raided after complaints. He is now in Pakistan and the people who are meeting him do not appear to know his reality.
