Police in Karachi say that they have busted a group called the “Burger gang” that is allegedly involved in robbing houses during broad daylight in upscale Karachi neighbourhoods. Gizri police claim to have arrested the gang leader Mohammed Shahid, who also goes by the names “Boss” and “Burger.” Moreover, they seized a car used in their robberies in DHA, Clifton and other areas, as well as weapons and stolen loot.
Other arrested suspects include Mohammed Amir who goes by the name “Jazu,” Mohammed Faisal who goes by the name “Pakori” and Imran Jamil. Moreover, police say that a manhunt is underway for Shahid who is also known as “Kala,” Mohammed Irfan who is also known as “Patni” and Adeel.
Initial investigation, say the police sources, have led to the arrested suspects “confessing” to these criminal activities.
These suspects, according to police sources, had been previously arrested in various areas of Karachi, and were even declared absconders by courts – with many FIRs registered against them.
Gang operations were allegedly run by Mohammed Amir aka “Jazu” - who not only purported to be doing business in Dubai but also lived a lavish lifestyle with reported monthly expenditures of some Rs400,000.
