A Lahore court on Friday issued arrest warrants for a dozen Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders.
They include Attaullah Tarar, Rana Mashhood, Bilal Farooq Tarar, Awais Laghari, Saiful Malook Khokhar, Mirza Jawed, Pir Khizer Hayat, Raja Sagheer Ahmed, Abdul Rauf, Ashraf Rasool, and Rana Mannan Khan.
Punjab Police had filed an application before Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Mudasir Hayat for action against the PML-N leaders for allegedly attacking MPAs in an assembly session on April 16 earlier on Friday. Police said the politicos had been failing to present themselves before authorities despite a case being registered against them.
The first information report (FIR) of the attack was registered on April 16 at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Station under Sections 324 (murder attempt), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 186 (obstructing public service) and 427 (causing damage) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
