Miftah Ismail Swiftly Rebukes Corruption Allegation From Audience Member At KLF
Former finance minister Dr. Miftah Ismail was incensed at wanton allegations leveled by an audience member during yesterday's (Sunday 19th February) session at the Karachi Literature Festival (KLF).

At a KLF interactive session, Ismail was asked why he didn't stop the import of luxury cars that kept coming for the ministers during his time as finance minister.

Miftah Ismail got angry at the accusation and replied, "Which BMW are you talking about?". He angrily added that he used his own personal car and did not take any luxury vehicle from the state, saying that "people make false accusations like you just did, for which people like me are sent to jail".

"I went to jail for five months because of unsubstantiated allegations from people like you, even though I didn't do anything wrong," Dr. Miftah Ismail exclaimed, adding "this is not a joke".

He said that he used to buy petrol himself, from his own personal funds, even when he was a minister.
