Four Policemen Martyred, Ten Injured In Khyber Blast
An explosion believed to be a suicide bombing in the Bara Bazar neighborhood of Khyber district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulted in the martyrdom of four cops and the injuries of ten people, including other police officers.

The most recent assault on law enforcement took place as police personnel were screening visitors to the tehsil complex, which contains the Bara Police Station, administrative buildings, and a counterterrorism cell.

According to the police, the injured people were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Dogra, Khyber Agency. It has not yet been determined what caused the explosion.

According to the authorities, smoke was visible rising from the explosion's scene. They said that heavy firing was also reported following the explosion.

Responsibility for the attack has been claimed directly by Omar Khorasani aka Mukarram Khorasani, a leader in the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), not by TTP spokesman Mohammad Khorasani so far.

In a statement that surfaced online, the TTP claimed that its two suicide bombers had successfully achieved their target and that it would continue to launch such attacks until the complete implementation of the Islamic system in the country.

Following the restoration of the Afghan Taliban to power in August 2021, Pakistan has seen an increase in terrorist assaults and has urged Afghanistan's interim leaders to take serious action against terrorists, particularly the TTP responsible for cross-border attacks.

A statistical study published by the independent think tank Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) revealed that the number of terrorist incidents in the country increased by 79% during the first half of 2023.

During the first half of 2023, Pakistani security forces increased their efforts to combat terrorism. They killed at least 236 terrorists around the country and detained 295 other suspected militants.
