"We can confirm that the Board has reluctantly decided to withdraw both teams from the October trip,” a tweet from the board’s official account read.
England's men and women teams were going to visit Pakistan to play two Twenty20s in Rawalpindi. The matches were scheduled to be held on October 13 and 14.
"We are sincerely sorry for the impact this will have on cricket in Pakistan and emphasise an ongoing commitment to our main touring plans there for 2022," the English cricket board said while announcing its decision. Acknowledging PCB's support over the last two summers, the English cricket board termed it 'a huge demonstration of friendship'.
