President Arif Alvi reportedly met General Faiz Hameed in Islamabad, along with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Asad Umar and Pervez Khattak, as claimed by journalist Azaz Syed.
YouTuber and journalist Azaz Syed revealed during an episode of his YouTube talk show with Umar Cheema that his sources had told him that President Arif Alvi had met with a certain General from the army a couple of days ago.
"It was not the army chief, nor the Director General of the Inter Services Intelligence, or the Military Intelligence. But it was the same General who once used to be the apple of [PTI Chairman] Imran Khan's eye," he said, in an apparent reference to General Faiz Hameed, who has long been rumored to be the reason for the spat between Imran and the military.
Saying that meetings like these could not remain a secret for long, Syed claimed that the government already knew about this meeting between President Alvi, Asad Umar, Pervez Khattak and General Faiz Hameed.
He also said that the meeting came during a strange time, when the army was insisting it was no longer interfering in politics, while the PTI was asking it not to be neutral and pick sides, and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led coalition government was agreeing to everything the establishment was saying.
